Visiting for the First Time

Who are we?
Southwest Community Church is made up of a wide range of different people, from all ages and backgrounds. Infants through seniors are given a very warm welcome at Southwest. For a statement of what we believe, please see the Vision page.

Where are we located?
For a map and directions, please see the DIRECTIONS page.

Guest Parking When to arrive:
If it's your first visit, then it's probably a good thing to arrive 15 minutes before the starting time. We have plenty of free parking—and since it is your first visit, we want you to park right up front—follow the signs to GUEST PARKING on the Fred Waring side of the building.

When are services?
On both Saturdays and Sundays. Click for services times.

ShoesWhat to wear:
That's simple. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. The desert tends to be informal in its dress, yet some people like to dress up and others like to dress casually. However you come is fine with us.

What to expect:
It can be a bit nerve-racking to arrive at a new place. And our facility can feel a bit overwhelming to first-time visitors. Our welcoming team at the Guest Welcome booth will help you with where to take your children, or by pointing you toward the restrooms or meeting places. You'll find we are a friendly bunch, so if you don't understand something, please ask.

Food Would you like some coffee or pastries?
Make your way into the main lobby and help yourself to coffee, fruit and pastries before things get started.

Children's check-in

What about children?
Children ages 0-5th grade go immediately to the registration desk located at the entrance near the play equipment on the west side of the church. There you will be helped in locating your child's room where they will be spending quality time learning about the Bible.

What about Jr. High & High School Students?
(6th grade - high school) have their own services upstairs at 11 AM.

Video Cafe LiveChoose your style of Worship
Adults head for the Worship Center (the big room at the far east side of the building). We start with a time of worship songs with guitars, keyboards, piano and drums. The style of music depends on what time you visit.(Check out the Weekend Service

Welcome from our lead pastor-

Pastor Bob

Hello, my name is Bob Thune and this is my wife Ruthie.

I am the Lead Pastor here at Southwest Community Church, and I want to thank you for visiting us on our website.

We are a “community” church in a couple of respects. One, we are endeavoring to serve the community in which we are located, as well as the surrounding communities. Two, we are attempting to be a community—a group of people who love and serve each other. What we do, we do in the context of caring, nurturing relationships.

If you live in "the desert" for all or part of the year and don’t have a church, we invite you to consider making our church your church. If you will be visiting the area, we would love to have you join us on the weekend.

If there is any particular way we can serve you, please let us know.

Disabilities Access-

Couple
Our premises are accessible for those with disabilities. We have reserved parking spaces near the entrance for those cars displaying handicap license plates. There is plenty of seating and an elevator to take you upstairs.

We have hearing assistance devices in the main lobby (at the farthest east side of the building).
